The Route

  1. 1. Turtle Spotting — Laganas Bay — Slow cruise through Laganas Bay, primary nesting area of the Caretta-caretta loggerhead turtle. The glass bottom section allows underwater viewing as the boat moves. Morning departures offer the highest chance of surface sightings.

  1. 2. Marathia — Thermal Springs · 1st Swimming Stop — Natural sulphurous thermal springs rise through the seabed, creating warm, mineral-rich water with documented therapeutic properties. One of the most unusual swimming experiences on the island.

  1. 3. Keri Caves — First Arch — Limestone cave system carved into the cliff line. Turquoise water inside the arch. The boat passes through for viewing — a stunning introduction to the Keri Cave network.

  1. 4. Marathonisi — Turtle Island · 2nd Swimming Stop — Small uninhabited island at the centre of the Marine Park. Shallow, sheltered, consistently among the clearest water on the south coast. Turtles frequently surface here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will we definitely see turtles?

Common but not guaranteed — wild animals in their natural habitat. The 09:00 departure gives the highest likelihood of sightings.

What are the thermal springs at Marathia?

Natural sulphurous springs rising through the seabed. The water is warmer than the surrounding sea and rich in minerals with therapeutic properties.

Is this tour suitable for children?

Yes. Calm, sheltered waters. The glass bottom section is particularly popular with children. No minimum age.
