My name is Ross Lagopodis. I was born and raised on Zakynthos. I have spent ten years working in this island's tourism industry — in management and sales roles, working alongside operators, guides, and captains — before deciding to build something of my own.
Ioneon Travel is in its second season. The first year, we operated in partnership with Traventure in Kalamaki. This year, we have our own office opposite Zakynthos Airport — a location that reflects where we are going, not just where we started.
Ten years in tourism teaches you a great deal about what works and what doesn't. It also teaches you what frustrates people — the overselling, the hidden costs, the generic experience that promises one thing and delivers something slightly less.
I started Ioneon Travel because I believed there was a better way to do this. Not dramatically different — just honest. Transparent pricing. Routes that are actually worth taking. A booking process that doesn't require you to hand over money before you've even arrived. Direct contact with the person who owns the company.
Zakynthos is an extraordinary island. I have known it my entire life. I know where the turtles surface in the morning, which sea caves have the best light at which hour, and which viewpoints the coach tours skip. That knowledge is what Ioneon Travel is built on.
