Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the Shipwreck & Blue Caves tour depart from?

From Agios Nikolaos harbour on the north coast of Zakynthos. This is the closest harbour to both the Blue Caves and Shipwreck Beach — approximately 10–15 minutes by boat to the Blue Caves and 20–25 minutes to Navagio. Most other operators depart from Zakynthos Town or Alykes, which adds 30–40 minutes of transit each way.

Can we swim at Shipwreck Beach?

Yes — swimming at Navagio is included as a scheduled stop. The beach is reached by boat only; there is no road access. The cove is enclosed and sheltered, and the water is among the clearest on the island.

What time is best to visit the Blue Caves?

We highly recommend the 12:00 midday departure. At this hour, the sun is directly overhead at Navagio Bay. This means the towering 300-metre cliffs cast no shadows over the cove, illuminating the white limestone sand and creating the vivid, electric-blue water colors the shipwreck is famous for. For a quieter experience, the 10:00 or 15:00 departures are also excellent choices.

Is this tour suitable for children?

Yes. There is no minimum age. The caves and Navagio cove are calm and sheltered. Life jackets are available for all passengers. The tour is popular with families.

How much does the Shipwreck & Blue Caves boat trip cost?

€30 per person. No upfront payment — payment is made on the day at Agios Nikolaos harbour.
