North Coast vs South Coast
The north coast is dramatic and photogenic — towering white limestone cliffs, the Blue Caves, and Navagio Beach. The south coast is calmer, wilder, and richer in marine life — the National Marine Park, Caretta-caretta turtles, Keri Caves, and Mizithres sea stacks.
One day on the water: choose based on what matters — drama and photography (north) or wildlife and calm (south). Two days: do both. Both in one day: Land & Sea tour.
When to Visit Zakynthos

Navagio Beach — What You Need to Know in 2026
Accessible only by sea. Since 2022, landing has been prohibited due to rockfall risk. Boats enter the bay fully for photography. The view from the water is extraordinary.
Important: Many agencies still advertise "stops at Navagio" without clarifying the restrictions. We inform every guest before booking: the boat anchors in the bay for an extended photography and swimming session from the vessel. No landing.
Sea Turtles in Zakynthos
Zakynthos hosts the largest loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta-caretta) nesting population in the Mediterranean. Primary nesting beaches are in Laganas Bay. Sightings are common from June to September on morning Marine Park tours.
Do not touch or approach turtles — it is illegal and harmful to them. Always follow your captain's instructions when near the Marine Park.
Getting Around Zakynthos
No reliable public transport on the island. Rental car is strongly recommended for exploring beyond the main resorts. If you need a transfer to any of our departure points, contact us when booking and we can arrange it.
Practical Tips
💶 Cash: Many small operators prefer cash. Bring euros.
☀️ Sun protection: Essential from June onwards on any boat trip.
🌊 Seasickness: North coast is more exposed to swell. South coast tours are calmer.
🎒 What to bring: Towel, swimwear, sun cream, water shoes, camera. Snorkelling gear if you have it.
📅 Booking ahead: July-August fill fast. Private trips and Eros Cave: book 3-5 days in advance.
